This was a bit different of an Eve Dallas story for me. While it hit close to home for Eve, something about it felt off to me, and I can’t really pinpoint where it goes wrong. I did like learning more about Mavis’ past in the story, and could appreciate the addition of Sebastian as well. The religious aspect of the story was a glancing one, and I think it could have been explained or expanded upon a bit more to make it more relevant/relateable to the reader. The mystery was almost too easy in comparison! All things considered, this was a good story, but lacking some finer touches.
