BOOK BEGINNINGS ON FRIDAYS, HOSTED BY ROSE CITY READER
THANKS FOR JOINING ME ON FRIDAYS FOR BOOK BEGINNING FUN!
Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.
I’m just starting Brotherhood in Death by J.D. Robb today, so:
“Loyalty to the dead had him traveling to SoHo in icy rain rather than heading home.”
In Death books are comfort reads for me, so I am really looking forward to this story! This line immediately snags my attention, so I can’t wait to get started on it!
TIE IN: The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice is a natural tie in with this event and there is a lot of cross over, so many people combine the two. The idea is to post a teaser from page 56 of the book you are reading and share a link to your post. Find details and the Linky for your Friday 56 post on Freda’s Voice.
Page 56: “She kept her moves slow just in case one of them had a jumpy stunner finger, took out her badge.”
Can’t go wrong with a Robb novel.

I totally agree! I had started the series once before, but quit it somewhere around Ritual in Death. Back in November of 2015, one of my Goodreads groups started a Buddy Read of the series, so I joined in and got hooked! I’ll finish the series up this month and be ready for the September release of Secrets in Death!

This is one of my favorite series. I have them download to my Kindle on release day and devour them shortly after. This week I am reading Edited Out by E. J. Copperman. Happy reading!

Money is tight for my family, so they are a bit too pricey for me to purchase outright, but my local library is good about getting them quick, so I’m hoping to get on the waiting list for the newest one early!

I love this series, but have only read the first three…so far. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “INTO THE WATER”

Once I got to about 10 books into it on my second go-around, I was like “Why didn’t I read these sooner?! Oh, right, I did, I was just stupid and didn’t appreciate what I was reading!” I’ll be sad when I get done with all the current books!

I’ve enjoyed other books by this author, and this sounds like a good series. I’m curious about “loyalty to the dead.”
My Friday post features The Secret Wife.

Sounds like another good one from Robb. Been too long since I picked one up.

It has its ups and downs, just like any long running series, but on the whole, I love it! Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Oh yes! This is on my TBR list. I’ve got about 5 of these books, and I want to start them all again and read every book after, which I haven’t read. I thought I was the only one who hadn’t read them, so I am glad this is one of your current reads 🙂

I’ve been reading them every month since late 2015, and will be so sad when I get caught up!
